Privacy Policy

Overview

Sajdah is an Islamic utility app for prayer times, Qibla direction, Quran and Hadith reading, daily duas and adhkar, Hijri date information, prayer reminders, and community-maintained mosque information. We design Sajdah to collect only the information needed to provide these features, protect community submissions, and keep user-controlled settings on your device whenever possible.

Sajdah does not show advertisements and does not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in this release.

Information Stored On Your Device

Sajdah may store the following locally in your browser or Android app storage:

• Selected language, location, prayer calculation method, timezone, and display settings.
• Prayer reminder choices and cached prayer schedules.
• Quran reading progress, bookmarks, adhkar progress, and daily-practice progress.
• Draft mosque submissions, correction drafts, and any photos attached before upload.
• A local contributor identifier used to keep your community drafts and submissions consistent on your device.

You can remove local Sajdah data from the app's data-use controls, by clearing browser or app storage, or by uninstalling the app.

Information Sent To Our Services

When you use community or account features, Sajdah uses Supabase to provide authentication, database storage, and private file storage. Depending on your choices, Supabase may receive and store:

• Anonymous account identifiers or, if you choose email sign-in/recovery, your email address.
• Mosque names, administrative areas, map pins, prayer schedules, Jumuah status, submitter relationship, and optional submitter phone number.
• Mosque corrections, timing proposals, review decisions, and moderation records.
• Mosque photos you choose to upload. Photos are resized and re-encoded before upload to reduce file size and remove embedded metadata.
• Administrator or moderator actions needed to review community submissions and maintain public records.

Location

Sajdah asks for location permission only when you choose a feature that needs it, such as nearby prayer times, nearby mosques, Qibla direction, or a location-based Hijri date. You can also enter a place manually instead of granting location access.

For prayer time calculations, coordinates or a selected place may be sent to AlAdhan. For manual place search, the place name may be sent to OpenStreetMap Nominatim. These providers may process technical information such as your IP address under their own privacy terms.

Prayer Reminders And Notifications

Sajdah asks for notification permission only when you enable prayer reminders. On Android, the app may also ask for alarms and reminders access so selected prayer reminders can ring on time. You can change notification and alarm permissions in your device settings.

Community Contributions

Community mosque submissions, corrections, and photos are private until reviewed. Approved mosque information may become visible to other Sajdah users. Rejected or archived records may be retained for audit, safety, abuse prevention, duplicate prevention, and moderation history.

When timing reviews use distance checks, coordinates are used server-side to check whether a reviewer is near the mosque. Exact reviewer coordinates are not stored in public mosque records.

Account Deletion

Ordinary users can request deletion of their cloud account and owned community records from inside Sajdah where available. You can also use the public account deletion instructions at /account-deletion.html.

Some moderation, audit, security, or legal records may be retained when necessary to protect the service, prevent abuse, preserve review history, or comply with applicable obligations. Privileged administrator or reviewer accounts may require responsibility transfer before deletion.

Data Retention

Local device data remains until you delete it, clear app or browser storage, or uninstall Sajdah. Cloud records are retained while needed for the community directory, moderation, account operation, security, and legal compliance. Rejected community submissions and audit records may be retained to prevent abuse and preserve moderation history.

Children

Sajdah is a general audience app. It is not directed specifically to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children as a primary audience. Parents or guardians should supervise app use where required.

Security

We use HTTPS for network communication and rely on Supabase security controls, database permissions, and private storage policies for cloud features. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to limit collection and access to the information needed for Sajdah to function.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this policy when Sajdah's features, service providers, or legal requirements change. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision.
